Connecting People to the Environment Through the Arts

Introduction

One of the things we encourage is connecting people to the environment through the arts.  Here are a few examples of what we have done

Climate change flags

Using an old pillowcase or pre-loved fabric over 50 people created flags with images that summed up climate change for them personally. These flags were displayed in Ringwood Library

Ringwood Carnival 2022

Our entry into Ringwood Carnival won Silver. The theme was the web of life with props and costumes depicting animals and birds. Some of our props have gone on to be used in the Verwood and Sway Carnivals

Celebrating British Birds

Over 30 people came together to create a set of banners celebrating British birds. The banners will be on tour, they are currently at Trinity United Church and will move to Ringwood Library for Bird Watch Weekend in January 2024. The weekend runs from 26th to 28th January and is an opportunity to look out for bird life in your gardens. Look out for more activities that week in Ringwood Library

Pop-up Nature Art Gallery - 11th May 2024 at the ECO Fair

Come along to one of our outdoor events and add your picture to our art gallery. Observe trees, flowers and wildlife to create your very own masterpiece. Next opportunities are Saturday 11th May at the ECO Fair, Thursday 30th May at Poulner Lakes and Friday 31st May 2024 at Jack Wright Field.
